It’s a reduced gameweek this week with the Littlewoods Cup final taking place on Sunday. As well as City and Liverpool having a weekend off, Everton and Newcastle also have to wait a little longer for their next game. Newcastle’s lack of action in last weekend’s FA cup means by the time they face Stoke on Wednesday night it’ll have been 18 days since their last competitive match.

Another reduced gameweek has appeared on the horizon. Gameweek 30 coincides with the FA Cup quarter finals. As it stands there’ll only be six fixtures, which could be reduced to five if Arsenal win their replay against Hull City. Be aware if you’ve a team full of Manchester United, Chelsea, Palace, Sunderland, Everton, West Ham, Watford and Liverpool players. Those who’ve already played their second wildcard should start praying that a couple of those fixture rearrangements land on the Tuesday or Wednesday following the quarter finals, and therefore in the same gameweek, to avoid any serious squad depletion.

Our own Buckets Cup kicks off next gameweek – that’s this midweek. Twenty teams gain a bye into the first round proper. As we stand those teams are Sergio Five 0 (as last years winners) and GrievousAngelRangel, Rico United, Biscuitmen, Upper Bullens, Scotty2Hotty, Atletico Chappers, Shoelace Untied, Golden Boys, Crazylegs XI, Bish Bash Goal, Howayman, Baker Bum Boys, SS3 FC, Uriah Rennie 2nd XI, Gaalacticos, 4 Lime Jellies, The Hardy Boys and Romeo’s Honda Van. There’s one more place up for grabs. If this weeks weekly winners score 59 points or more – they’re in. If they don’t, Pretty Schitty City take their place in the first round. The draw will probably be made on Sunday evening, or sometime Monday.

February’s manager of the month will be decided by this weekend’s fixtures. The Hardy Boys lead the chase, but others are in contention. It might be a good week for a chip.
