At last – we’ve broken the 70 point barrier. One of us has even dared to score 80 points. Congratulations to Bish Bosh Goal who jumped 10 places in the league from 42nd to 32nd and are our team of the week. Special mention to Below Par who were anything but and added 75 points to their total to move into the top five. But that was it. Two teams. Still, the majority of Buckets managers were circling in and around the 50 point bracket. And this in the week that 41 goals were scored, which is around 18 or 19 more than your average Premiership week.

In fact the average weekly total across the whole game was only 46, and the reason could be that the majority of the big scorers were those posting their first meaningful contributions of the season – players that probably started in a lot of squads but have been shipped out due to relatively low returns over the opening two months of the season. No better example is our leading scorer of the week, Alexis Sanchez. His 20 points is the highest individual total so far. It’s his first double figure score made up of his first three goals and first bonus points of the season. Others finding the net for the first time were Daniel Sturridge, Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane, James Milner, Erik Lamela and Memphis Depay. All have seen their values drop, but all scored 8 points plus. Hardly any were on Buckets manager’s radars. 60 of Bish Bosh Goal’s 80 points came from a combination of Sanchez, Rooney and Romelu Lukaku. They made Lukaku captain to the advantage of 32 points. The Everton striker had netted twice in gameweek two, but was also on a fallow run of four scoreless weeks before his brace against West Brom on Monday night. Below Par also benefited from Sanchez and Lukaku’s goals, with Lukaku as captain. They actually only had 10 eligible players this week, so may have missed the opportunity to score even more, and climb even higher, had they made a clever transfer.

Manager of the month and in among the moolah is Init FC…

1 Init fc Mustafa khan 66 164
2 Upper Bullens Andy Taylor 37 163
3 Edgbaston Micheal Dinneen 54 161
4 4 Lime Jellies Ian Williams 46 155
5 The Craggy Islanders Adrian Roche 58 155
6 Golden Boys Stephanie Cripps 60 154
7 Pretty Schitty City Alex Michaluk 53 153
8 Below Par Paul Bentz 75 152
9 Your Ad Here Matthew Hopkins 51 152

They scored 60 points to topple Upper Bullens, who had a poor week. Init, as far as I can see, were the only ones to employ Sanchez as captain, thus picking up 40 points. Congratulations to them.

Player of the week – Alexis Sanchez – 20 points. The start of a roll for Arsenal’s star player?

Bargain of the week – Rudy Gestede – 13 points. Another player in among the points after weeks of nothing.

Donkey of the week – Martin Demichelis – -1 points. The City slump hasn’t done anyone any favours.

Goal of the week – Daniel Sturridge (1st goal). A welcome return, with the only problem being having to watch that stupid frickin’ celebration every week.
