Even the most die-hard Chelsea fan will probably have ditched their heroes by now. Poor old John Terry is on a minus score. All first teamers bar Azpilicueta, Pedro and Costa have seen their value drop. Cesc Fabregas has had £0.3 million shaved from his starting price. And yet, you’ve still got that niggling voice in the back of your head. It really can’t last forever can it?

So lets mess with your mind a little bit. They routed Tel Aviv in their midweek Champions League match – even Cesc Fabregas scored. And they play Arsenal this weekend. Forget that they’ve suffered defeats against Everton and Palace and remember Mourinho’s record against Wenger. Every league encounter has ended in either a draw or a Mourinho victory. Arsenal look far from being at their best. Only Petr Cech occupies a place in the higher reaches of the player tables, and they aren’t scoring that many – in fact Chelsea have scored more goals. And where Chelsea succeeded in coming through a potential Champions League banana skin, Arsenal failed, losing 2-1 to group minnows, Dinamo Zagreb.

Eden Hazard definitely meeds a rest though. Did you see that penalty miss?

Can Man City make it six clean sheets in six games? West Ham may prove trickier opponents than first thought. Take their last two away performances – a 2-0 victory at Arsenal and a 3-0 victory at Liverpool. In Dimitri Payet they have the best performing newcomer to the league, and the fifth best overall behind Riyad Mahrez – and the Man City defence. Who will come out on top? It’s certainly no reason to lose faith in the City defenders, particularly as Newcastle, Bournemouth and Norwich all have come to the Etihad before the end of October.
