Midweek action again for gameweek 26 before a ten day break through an FA Cup weekend to gameweek 27, and the last matches for February. It’s also worth noting at this point that gameweek 28, and the start of the Buckets Cup, is a reduced schedule due to the final of the League Cup. So, City and Sunderland don’t play, along with Manchester United and West Brom.

There’s due to be an announcement sometime today on whether or not Fulham’s match with Liverpool will go ahead tomorrow night because of the planned tube strike. There’s no word on whether the Arsenal v Manchester United match will be postponed tonight, although the strike isn’t due to start until after that match has finished. The potential cancellation of the Fulham game could leave a lot of managers with a selection and captaincy headache. Liverpool’s scoring power versus Fulham’s defensive frailties points towards a Sturridge or Suarez captain choice. Sensible managers will pick one or the other, and choose a vice captain from a team that are definitely playing. Or avoid them altogether. Those with three Liverpool players may have to make a temporary sub to get through the gameweek. Those with Fulham players – what are you thinking? Unless it’s Steve Sidwell, who is the only Fulham player scoring any points at the moment.

Chelsea’s current form, and in particular Eden Hazard, offer alternative solutions. They play an off colour West Brom, and chances of a clean sheet and a goal or two are high. And City will be eager to get back to winning and scoring ways against Sunderland. The smart money would be on that happening, and another goal glut would be a welcome relief to those City dependent teams that have dropped points in the last two games.

Tube strike’s been called off. Bollocks – that could have made it interesting.
