Scoring 85 points, the highest of the week, Romeo’s Honda-Van have risen to the top of the league table, won the January manager of the month prize, and earned themselves a bye into the second round of the cup. See the monthly table below…

1 Romeo’s-honda-van Rob Hewer 85 262
2 The Magico Rob Buttaci 61 255
3 pretty Schitty City Alex Michaluk 66 247
4 Real Jorvik Simon Brown 44 244
5 Panza Grande XI Stuart Baker 52 242
6 Shakin’ Stephens P Hawkins 72 239

No-one really got close to Romeo’s either in the weekly or monthly race, coincidentally winning both by 13 points. Their rise has been a steady one, and without as much tinkering as in past seasons. And they still have the January wildcard to play. Panza’s lead lasted for only one week. A 33 point swing means they now trail the top spot by 11 points. Panza’s Spurs contingent, so reliable over the last few weeks, weren’t so helpful this week, as was the inclusion of one of the many thousands of players who got themselves red carded this week.

Player of the week – Edin Dzeko – 15 points. Aguero injured again so cut price Dzeko should keep that place in the team.

Bargain of the week – Chico Flores – 15 points. A clean sheet is becoming inevitable when teams come up against Fulham.

Donkey of the week – Danny Rose – -2 points. Sent off unluckily, and on the end of a hiding from Man City.

Goal of the week – Fabian Delph. Netbuster.
