This weekend will decide who wins our November manager of the month award. There’s a squillion teams in it, but Sporting’s 75 point total last week, which widened their gap at the top of the league, pulled them into the top 20,000 worldwide and placed them in second position in the monthly table looked more than ominous. And as Sergio Aguero’s price rises week after week, and it’s more difficult to fit him into your team, the only way it seems we can stop our league leaders, is to hope that City have one their off weeks. But, they are at home. And against Swansea. Who’d rule out another goalfest?

Those of us who have managed to squeeze Aguero into their teams have done so at a cost. Sporting bought him at 11 million. He’ll set you back an extra million now – as will most of the other players you need to guarantee wortrhwhile weekly scores. Last week saw a lot of popular players hit double figures. A continuation of that this week will enable teams without Aguero to post healthy scores, and keep in touch with Sporting. Suarez and Sturridge could fill their boots at Hull. Lukaku might fancy his chances against Stoke. Anything City can do, United will want to replicate. So Tottenham’s goals against record could go from good to bad to worse in the space of a fortnight if Rooney and Van Persie get their eye in. If any of those players deliver in front of goal, and they’re in your team, and Aguero doesn’t, and he’s not in your team, you might end up being manager of the month.

I’m not sure if any of that made any sense.
