It’s probably a good week to pack the team with Arsenal players, whether it be a mix of defence and attack or an all out reliance on one end of the field. Palace, now manager-less, and coming off the back of a 4-1 home defeat to Fulham look very vulnerable and ripe for the picking at the hands of any of the top teams and top fantasy players. One thing to be wary of with regards to Arsenal is the possibility of some squad rotating. Last week Aaron Ramsey was dropped after featuring in both of Wales’ internationals. With the Gunners having played a high tempo and tough game against Dortmund in midweek, Wenger may be tempted to wield the axe again. Olivier Giroud is playing virtually every minute of every game. Am I really suggesting that Nicklas Bendtner could be given a start? You never know.

And the Van Persie conundrum continues. The returns are still way to modest for the game’s highest value player. And now he seems to be returning to the old perma-injured-Arsenal-era Van Persie. He missed the Champions League tie with a bad toe, and rumour is he’s broken a nail and cut his knee, and is a doubt for the weekend. He managed a goal last week against Southampton, but , really, you expect more.

Game of the weekend is probably the Sunday afternoon clash between Chelsea and City. Both Eden Hazard and Sergio Aguero have started to come into form after relatively slow starts. Both would be good options if you’ve finally given up on Van Persie. Nobody is yet sure who’ll be picked up front for Chelsea. Signs are slightly more encouraging after Samuel Eto’o scored a well taken first goal last weekend, and Fernando Torres put in a good performance in the Champions League fixture in midweek.
