With three minutes to go in the 8 o’ clock kick offs last night, Neil Madrid was the manager of the month. Then Adam “one touch, bang, goal” Le Fondre pierced the complacent Chelsea defence – twice. And with this, Neil Madrid were 10 points poorer – and Goodbutnosigurdsson were 11 points richer. Finishing with 67 points for the week, and 299 points for the month, Goodbutnosigurdsson win the manager of the week, and the January manager of the month awards. Bastard.

1 goodbutnosigurdsson Rob Hewer 67 299
2 Neil Madrid Neil Strong 48 287
3 Uriah Rennie 2nd XI Neil Greenwood 47 280
4 Hedgehog Corpse FC Nick Smith 51 268
5 A Pint of Fuller’s P Hawkins 42 265
6 Pescara Rangers Stewart Pope 60 263

Neil Madrid finishes 2nd for the 3rd time in 4 months. Goodbutnosigurdsson goes from strength to strength. Maybe a top 4 finish is not out of their grasp after all. This is their 2nd consecutive manager of the week award. And they’re the first team to win 3 weekly awards.

  • Player of the week – Leighton Baines – 17 points. England’s best full back.
  • Bargain of the week – James McArthur – 13 points. A good week for the X-Factor winner.
  • Donkey of the week – Joey O’Brien – -1 points. Own goal and now regular West Ham defensive capitulation.

Goal of the gameweek

Tough. Lots of contenders. Cabaye. Walcott. Baines. Le Fondre. And Gareth Bale…
