Buckets languishers – if you scored lower than 60 points last gameweek, it’s probably because you ignored Chelsea and Southampton playing twice. Had you been brave and picked Clyne, Puncheon, Lambert, Hazard, Mata and Lampard, you would have scored 85 points from those 6 players alone. There can be no excuse – you have a January wildcard. Even if you didn’t use the wildcard, the maximum 20 point hit still would have seen you score 65 points from those 6 players.

There are double fixtures again this week. Arsenal and West Ham play the match that was cancelled from Boxing Day on Wednesday night. West Ham play QPR on the Saturday. Arsenal visit Chelsea on the Sunday. Last week the top points scorers were dominated by Chelsea and Southampton players. Both goalkeepers scored 8 points. 6 of the top 10 defenders were Chelsea or Southampton players. 4 of the top 10 midfielders were Chelsea or Southampton players. And 3 of the 4 strikers that appeared for both Chelsea and Southampton were among the top 10 strikers. Both teams kept a clean sheet, and between them they scored 9 goals.

So…could the same thing happen this week? No reason why it shouldn’t. There are plenty of players from both teams having good FPL seasons. West Ham have some of the best performing mid to lower priced players. A game against QPR could produce a goal or two for them, and maybe a clean sheet. Arsenal haven’t performed too well against their big name rivals of late, but what they may lose in their match up with Chelsea, they’d hope to make up when they come to play West Ham. Santi Cazorla is the 9th highest scoring player overall, and Theo Walcott is top of the form league.

Don’t miss out.

Then again, there is the snow.

But which fixtures will be hit by the snow? I think Swansea could be postponed.

You what?
