Shadwell Town has gone out of business. So we’re a league of 27 teams now. This means that I’ll have to tinker with the prize fund a little bit. Check the prize money link and I’ll eventually have worked out the new split.

This week 2 teams reached 71 points – Hedgehog Corpse and Neil Madrid. Unfortunately, Hedgehog Corpse scored more goals, so win the Manager of the Week award. Who made up these rules anyway?

6 of the 7 leading goalscorers all scored this week. There was no excuse for scoring less that 50 points. If you haven’t got at least 2 of Michu, Fellaini, Defoe, Van Persie, Ba or Tevez, it’s time for a rethink. Suarez didn’t score – and picked up that 5th booking. That could have fallen just at the right tome for those thinking of sneaking in a Reading or Sunderland player next week. Wayne Rooney made his first major contribution for a good few weeks, scoring two of United’s goals in the win at Reading. He has assisted 7 times in the league, which is only bettered by Tevez and Eden Hazard, and has just crept onto the front page of leading strikers. It’s an indication of the position that Rooney is playing at the moment – becoming more of a number 10, and a midfielder, but with United operating their “we’ll score one more than you” policy, he may start racking up a few more points through December. That may not be the same of those two dodgy “keepers” and that creaky looking defence, however.

  • Player of the week – Michu – 16 points. Swansea on the climb.
  • Bargain of the week – Carlton Cole – 12 points. Andy Carroll out till February. Carlton Cole only 4.9 million.
  • Donkey of the week – Maynor Figueroa – -3 points. Lasted 10 minutes, then probably harshly red carded.

Goal of the weekend

Nice one
