I probably won’t get time to preview gameweek 14, so I’m lumping them both together. Gameweek 13 games take place over Saturday and Sunday. Gameweek 14 covers the midweek matches next Tuesday and Wednesday.

It tends to be the second half of the season where you’re more likely to see a bit of squad rotation as fixture schedules get congested, but don’t be surprised to see a few teams chop and change a little across both games – particularly those that have had European ties this week, and those that have the squads to do so.

These two gameweeks will also determine who wins the November Manager of the Month award. A quick swizz at the top of the monthly table…

1 Pescara Rangers Stewart Pope 66 182
2 Release The Hounds 5 Paul Mitchell 75 175
3 Shoelace Untied Caroline Strong 49 170
4 Body Issues FC Arron Fellows 65 168
5 Doing the 91 Colin Goulding 32 167
6 Pimp My Side Jordan Raper 51 160
7 Borussia HairBack Alex Ritchie 56 159
8 (Your Ad Here) Matthew Hopkins 58 159
8 Moxie XI Luke O’Shea 60 159
10 Les Canaris David Spinks 60 156
11 goodbutnosigurdsson Rob Hewer 95 154

Pescara have a slight advantage, but could be pegged back if they have a bad week. All the teams bubbling under are in good form. Another score similar to that of last week for Goodbutnosigurdsson will definitely put them in with a shout.

The best hope for a bumper crop of points from both fixtures is probably Manchester United. Two home games against QPR and West Ham should bring two victories. Van Persie had an off week last week – I doubt that will happen here – especially against QPR, who look doomed already. Game of the week is the Chelsea v Man City clash on Sunday. Chelsea have a new manager. Don’t be fooled into thinking it will have any effect on the players. Look at what they’ve won over the years. I don’t know what that says about them. They probably don’t even realise. Ashley Cole probably thinks it’s the same bloke who was in charge when he joined.   I don’t know whether Benitez will mastermind an instant victory against City. I’m not sure many of the Chelsea players like him. Apart from Ashley. Who thinks it’s that bloke that signed him. He talks funny. Must be the same guy. I sense City might be turning the corner. Forget the European exit. I’m sure they have. It’s time to (football cliché alert) concentrate on the league. Sergio Aguero’s not been mentioned too many times in this blog this year. An early injury saw him fall out of a lot of teams. He has 4 goals in his last 3 appearances. I suspect his value and popularity will rise pretty quickly if this ratio continues. Chelsea have conceded 21 goals in their last 10 games. That’s when they last kept a clean sheet – in the Champions League against FC Nordsjaelland, who are a made up team from Denmark.
