The Premier League has a 14 week run through now to the New Year. Here’s where we separate the Alex Fergusons from the Jimmy Gabriels (google him). Football Focus will be very excited about Andre Villas Boas welcoming his former employers to White Hart Lane, but here in FPL land, we’re more concerned with whether Arsenal can get back to that early season clean sheet habit, and whether the Manc teams have finally turned the corner on that early season wobbliness.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham have looked good for victories – and have delivered as such over the last couple of game weeks. There are may things to consider. AVB has swung from zero to hero in a couple fo matches, having beaten Manchester United to go on a run of four consecutive wins. Gareth Bale is in form. John Terry will start his ban. But you could argue Luiz and Cahill have been in better form anyway. Hazard has gone off the boil, but Mata has come back into the frame. None of this could matter. It’ll be 1-1. Big team v big team fixtures rarely deliver masses of FPL points, particularly when there are such rich pickings elsewhere this weekend. Namely Carrow Road, where the team who play in Swiss cheese yellow look incapable of posting a something to nil scoreline. John Ruddy might have plenty of saves to make. Even Olivier Giroud could get on the scoresheet.

And there’s the North East derby in which I’ll guarantee Lee Cattermole being sent off and Shola Ameobi scoring a goal.
