Team guides. Everton.

August 14, 2012

Key player – Nikica Jelavic – 8.5m

Joined in January and propelled Everton up the league to finish in 8th place, after their yearly early season crapness. Scored more goals than the rest of the Everton forward players put together in half the time. If he hits the ground running, he might finish with a 20+ tally, and maybe Everton will challenge for Europe again.

New signing – Steven Pienaar – 6.5m

Should never have left. Harry took him to Spurs, and didn’t play him. Obviously suited to Everton. One of the more reliable mid priced midfielders in the game. Should assist well.

Bargain buy – Seamus Coleman – 5m

Had a fantastic breakthrough season in 2010-2011, but couldn’t follow it up last time round. Coleman had lots of injuries, and couldn’t play his way back into the team when he was fit. This season he starts fit and at a much lower price, making him a much more attractive proposition.

Avoid – Tony Hibbert – 5.5m

Highly priced based on a good run in the team at the end of last season when Everton were in form. He’s a crowd favourite, an Evertonian through and through, honest and hard-working, but that doesn’t win you fantasy points, and if Everton make their usual slow start, you’ll wish you’d spent your 5.5 million elsewhere.
