Neil Madrid win the gameweek with 118 points, and win the Manager of the Month prize. Congratulations to everyone that hit triple figure scores this weekend, all of whom utilised those players playing twice to maximum effect. Neil Madrid notched six goals, six assists and 16 bonus points. Basement dwellers Shadwell had another good week – thanks to Torres’ and Suarez’s hat tricks, Kompany’s goal, clean sheet and bonus marks in the Manchester derby, and Bale’s three assists across his two games. Panza, Shoelace, Uriah Rennie, Real Jorvik and Release The Hounds were the other big scorers. The title is sewn up – surely no-one can catch Neil Madrid. The race is on still for those runners-up prizes. Panza’s 105 points and Crazylegs 108 points positions them just behind Romeo’s and none of the above. Forty points separate these four teams. One of these teams will end up in 5th and potless.

The May Manager of the Month prize starts with the next gameweek (37) –  and finishes with the one after (38). The last two weeks of the season. The easiest prize to win. Possibly.

There are ten teams with something left to play for – United, City, Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea, Villa, Bolton, Blackburn and Wigan. You can count on these teams continuing with their full strength line ups. The rest could put any old team out. Although Everton could be spurred on by the prize of finishing above Liverpool enough to go at it for one more week. The fixture list has evolved nicely – nine of this week’s games involve a team fighting at the top, or the bottom, or both. United and Arsenal are experienced enough to complete their weekly task. They should get goals against Swansea and Norwich respectively, and keep clean sheets. Ferguson’s team choice was a little confusing last week – for the biggest game of the season. For this considerably more winnable one, I would expect him to revert to a more convincing line up.

  • Player of the week – Rafael Van Der Vaart. Played twice, scored twice, assisted once and picked up four bonus points for his efforts.
  • Bargain of the week – Victor Moses. Played once, but single-handedly destroyed Newcastle. Which makes Wigan better than Barcelona, and Moses better than Messi. Possibly.
  • Donkey of the week – Danny Simpson. Conceded four, booked and injured. Ee-aw!

Goal o’t the gameweek

Sorry. It’s another Newcastle goal. I do try to avoid this, but I can’t help it if they keep scoring ridiculous goals like this. Honorable mention for Franco Di Santo. Sod it here’s the clip…

See…..against Newcastle.
