Romeo’s Honda-van are the Phil Taylor of Buckets. Scoring heavily. Never missing the doubles. They’ve clocked another score of 70+ this week, although it wasn’t wuite enough to grab the Manager of the Week prize for what would have been the third time in four weeks. It’s two time winners Pescara Rangers, who win the weekly award with a superb 81 points. And with it they have climbed a little further into mid table, and a little closer to the top 10. In fact, Romeo’s and Pescara are the only teams to win the award for the last month. Overpaid Pillocks posted another 60+ score, and last year’s champs Crazylegs are beginning to make their presence felt, loitering just outside the top five, and clocking 71 points this week. These teams, and current overall leaders, Neil Madrid, are the teams in the running for the December Manager of the Month…….at the moment – that could all change very easily. There’s a glut of games coming up. All Premier teams play twice between the 17th and 22nd of December, and then twice again in the week between Christmas and New Year.

Man United came back to life this weekend. It was bound to happen sooner or later. Wayne Rooney ended his latest scoring drought with a double. Nani also got on the scoresheet twice, and became the player of the week by virtue of his extra assists and better bonus score. Again – Nani was bound to get a score sooner or later – and it was down to him that Pescara managed to win the weekly award. Making him captain was a clever move that I don’t think anyone else matched. Victor Moses was at the heart of everything for Wigan in their game against West Brom and picked up the bargain award. I’m not sure it’s that hard to be at the heart of everything in a match between Wigan adn West Brom, but well done anyway Victor. Apparently he had had the most shots at goal without scoring up until the weekend – a stat reflected in the fact that his value had dropped by 0.4 million from the start of the season.

And if you haven’t got Michel Vorm in as you”re keeper yet – what are you thinking?

  • Player of the week – Nani. Man U back to proper winning ways?
  • Bargain of the week – Victor Moses. Probably won’t appear here again.
  • Donkey of the week – Gael Clichy. Lost City their first game of the season with two lame yellows.

Goal o’t weekend

Mr RVP. Now, not only scoring heavily, but scoring beautifully.
