This weeks top scorers were none of the above with 74 points. Both none of the above and Neil Madrid pulled back the lead of the top two teams, Panza Grande and Release the Hounds, and created a bit of a gap between themselves and the chasing teams in the top 10. none of the above’s points were racked up by the flying Dutchman, Van Persie, Gaby Agbonlahor, who had a hand in all of Villa’s goals this week, and the continuing miracle that is the Newcastle defence. Despite conceding, both Ryan Taylor, who is the leading defender by some distance, and Danny Simpson notched up bonus ponts and assist or goal points this week. Overpaid Pillocks carried on their good form of last week and have jumped into the top 10, and are climbing fast. The form team of the Buckets League.

In another bumper week for goals, Bolton were the team of the week. Chris Eagles has scored 35 points in the last four weeks, and has charged into the top scoring midfielder charts. Ivan Klasnic scored three goals in the first three weeks of the season…and done nothing since – apart from getting himself sent off and banned. He added a further two goals, two assists and 19 points to his personal total, and also finds himself in amongst the top strikers. Another Stoke in Europa week failure. Their next Europa game is the 1st December. They’re away at Everton the following weekend. Bring in some Everton players that week – guaranteed score.

We did see an increase in the clean sheets this week . All the big teams succeeded in keeping one – bar City. Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all picked up their first meaningful defensive points for some time. United kept their second in succession. Although all but Arsenal did so with less that convincing displays from their forward line. Arsenal now the form attacking team?

Swansea kept their fifth clean sheet. Only United can match that. It was a good week for goalies. Friedel made 11 saves, notching an extra three points. Vorm and Cech got two bonus save points. And Ali Al-Habsi may play behind the best defence in Wigan, (that’s also the worst in the Premier League), but is making so many saves per week, that at 4.5 million, is probably the best value keeper in the league. A special mention for the two wonder saves he made against Wolves this week.

  • Player of the week – Ivan Klasnic. When Bolton score, he’s normally in on the act. Providing he hasn’t already been sent off
  • Bargain of the week – Chris Eagles. Becoming a go to cheap midfielder, always playing, and regularly scoring
  • Donkey of the week – Jonny Heitinga. Played in a World Cup final. Somehow.

Goal o’t weekend

Ryan Taylor’s 8th Premiership goal, his 6th from outside the area
