The Overpaid Pillocks score an impressive 86 points and take the manager of the week prize for Gameweek 10. They had both hat trick heroes in their squad – both of whom are this weeks players of the week. Robin Van Persie, at last, has landed the player of the week award, after coming so close in all but one of the last four weeks. Demba Ba is this weeks bargain player – his second award of the season – and his second hat trick. Arsenal look back in form, and Newcastle, miraculously, still are.

Game of the week saw Chelsea concede five. This season has also seen Arsenal concede eight, United concede six, Spurs concede five and Liverpool concede four in one game. Are there are no trustworthy defences – apart from the black and white one? Miraculous.

Manager of the month for October has been decided. Coinciding with the Arsenal resurgence, Rip Roaring Reds win it by some distance. Employing Van Persie as captain throughout the month was the key. He notched 84 points for the Reds on his own. Probably more than some teams mustered. I’m not sure Van Persie had been kept in many teams after Arsenal’s shaky start. Gooner loyalty wins out. But can we expect to see more teams picking the on fire Dutchman (and his compatriot on the other side of North London, Van Der Vaart), in preference to the currently out of form United players? And how do you crow-bar them in around your expensive City must-haves? Probably by sprinkling a few Newcastle players into the mix. Possibly.

  • Player of the week – Robin Van Persie. Can’t stop scoring
  • Bargain of the week – Demba Ba. Can’t stop scoring
  • Donkey of the week – Ricardo Gardner. The latest Bolton donkey

Goal o’t weekend

Junior Hoilett

Best I can do. Junior Hoilett for Blackburn v Norwich. Mazy run and a 25 yarder in the postage stamp.

I’m glad. For the first time in fantasy league history, having Newcastle players in MY squad is paying off

I know. Any one of the last 10 seaesons I wouldn’t touch a magpie with a bargepole. However, we seem to be good all of a sudden. So I’m going with it.

Unbelievably gutted you had Ba in your team Neil.

You what?
