A confusing week in which Lord Ferg of Salford decided to rest his best players for the “biggest game in club football”. No Rooney, Nani or Hernandez. Over on the other side of Mancunia, Mancini is without Aguero, and rests Nasri, Silva and Dzeko. So did anyone play this week?? Well, no. Judging by some of the scores that some of our teams managed. Uriah Rennie 2nd XI picked up manager of the week with 55 points, leapfrogging a few teams into 3rd place. Expect the Mancunian big guns to be back next week – only thing is – they play each other. Only two teams – Stoke and West Brom – managed to keep clean sheets. And this was one of those weeks where the majority of the high scoring players were players we’ve never heard of. Players who we’ll all rush to include in our line ups next week. And, players who’ll never score again. Players like…

  • Player of the week – Anthony Pilkington. Two well taken goals for Norwich.
  • Bargain of the week – Billy Jones. Clean sheet and an assist for West Brom.
  • Donkey of the week – Antolin Alcaraz. Carded. Conceded three. Two of which he assisted.

Goal o’t weekend
