A bit of a crazy week. The new site clearly can’t take the excitement. It’s taken a full three days to update following the weekend’s games. Maybe the 8-2 didn’t compute. Regardless, the first prize money has been won. Congratulations to Panza Grande, who, with a massive 95 points, blaze to the top of the leaderboard, and win the August Manager of the month award. It was all a question of who had Rooney, Dzeko and/or Young – and whether you made any of them captain. Panza opted for Rooney as captain, gaining 44 points, and also had Ashley Young, who picked up 23 points.  With those two players alone Panza would have beaten 14 of the other managers in the league. An honourable mention also to Pretty Schitty City, who gained 70 points, and has already made ground at the bottom of the league, after starting a week later than everyone else.

  • Player of the week – Ashley Young. Scored two, but clocked up more assists than Rooney and Dzeko, and grabbed the three point bonus in United’s annihilation of Arsenal
  • Bargain of the week – Leon Best. Two goals. His first and last of the season most probably.
  • Donkey of the week – Johan Djourou. The most hapless of the Arsenal backline

Goal o’t weekend

Watch the pick of the bunch at 45 econds in.

I know we’ll all be signing Niklas “Unstoppable Goal Machine” Bendtner after the international break…
