Crazylegs retain their top spot, and stretch their lead to 9 points, with strong contributions from player of the week, Matt Jarvis, and David Silva. Silva looks like he could be the main man already this season. Undroppable on current form, and the fulcrum of all of City’s meaningful attacking moves. He was made captain by TheBellsAreRinging, who, with 62 points, were top scorers this gameweek. This moves them up into the top 5. The first chunk of money is up for grabs after next weeks results. Crazylegs may take some catching (already). It could all come down to the choice of captain. My cause may have been helped this week had I not left 31 points sat on my bench. The Newcastle double whammy effect is taking hold already. Two games and two clean sheets is unheard of – obviously if I’d have picked Raylor and Simpson, they’d have conceded 6 and both been sent off. Seems Newcastle’s new-found defensive prowess has bamboozled some of our other managers. Crazylegs had 25 more points on their bench. This included Simpson, a penalty saving John Ruddy, and a goalscoring Shane Long. TheBellsAreRinging had 12 points on his bench. Saylor picking up 9 of those.

  • Player of the week. Matt Jarvis. Scored in every department this week.
  • Bargain of the week. Ryan Taylor. About time he scored a free kick FOR Newcastle.
  • Donkey of the week. Emmanuel Frimpong. Avoid Arsenal.

Goal o’t weekend

This blog lark is way too technical for me. I liked the letters you used to mail me last year.

You what?
